This notice is to inform users that we are in the process of upgrading our IRC Servers to InspIRCd 2.* from InspIRCd 1.2*. The upgrade may cause some undesirable effects during the upgrade process until all IRC4Fun Servers are upgraded, however the end result will benefit IRC4Fun network Security as well as our Users and Channels.
During the upgrade to individual IRC4Fun Servers, you may experience the following until all servers have been upgraded and restarted:
- Netsplits (We will try to minimize the netsplits as best we can; however until completed some servers will experience splits)
- Disconnection (As we restart the servers as they are upgraded; when we get to the server you are on, you will be temporarily disconnected. You should be able to reconnect within 15 seconds; however if you are unable to reconnect please try irc.IRC4Fun.net in the meantime.)
- Strange Behavior between the Servers & Services servers during the upgrade.
Please note that we will be working to complete the upgrade as soon as possible. In the meantime; if you need assistance during this upgrade, it is strongly recommended that you open a Support Ticket.
UPDATE (11/26/2013): The Upgrade is now completed, and we have updated the User & Channel Modes guide for your convenience! Also, Glory.* has been delinked due to it’s inability to support InspIRCd 2*. All IRC4Fun Servers are now SSL capable, and linked via SSL connections to better ensure IRC4Fun users of their privacy.
If you or any of your friends encounter any issues; please do not hesitate to open a Support Ticket.
