Communicating with X


There are several methods for communicating with X. In most cases, you can simply /msg X COMMAND options -- but in cases where you are sending X a password; it needs to be sent securely.

Secure Message (supported by most clients):
/cs COMMAND options
/x COMMAND options

Example: /cs LOGIN myUsername mySecretPassword

Traditional Secure Message (supported by all clients):
/msg X@services.IRC4Fun.net COMMAND options

Example: /msg X@services.IRC4Fun.net LOGIN myUsername mySecretPassword

With commands that do not contain a password, you can use normal private message. (You can also use secure message or traditional secure messages for commands that do not contain a password.)

Normal Private Message (supported by all clients):
/msg X COMMAND options

Example: /msg X OP #Channel
