The Coven Returns? Everything Confirmed for AHS Season 13

The Supreme has spoken, and the "Greatest Hits" season is officially underway.

After a divisive Season 12, Ryan Murphy is pulling out all the stops for the unlucky thirteenth installment of American Horror Story. Between massive casting announcements and "Day One" set photos, the fog is finally clearing on what to expect. Here is the breakdown of every confirmed detail we have so far.

1. The Return of the Queen: Jessica Lange is Back

The biggest news to hit the AHS fandom in years is official: Jessica Lange has returned to the franchise. On April 6, 2026, Ryan Murphy shared a "Day One" production photo featuring Lange looking out of an ornate window in New York City.

The Theory: While her specific character isn't named, her silhouette and beehive updo have fans convinced she is reprising her role as Constance Langdon (Murder House) or potentially a new iteration of Fiona Goode.

2. A "Greatest Hits" Cast Reunion

Season 13 is shaping up to be a franchise reunion. The following actors have been officially confirmed through casting teasers and production announcements:

  • Sarah Paulson
  • Evan Peters
  • Angela Bassett
  • Kathy Bates
  • Emma Roberts
  • Billie Lourd
  • Gabourey Sidibe
  • Ariana Grande
  • John Waters
  • Leslie Grossman

3. The Plot: Connection to 'Coven'

While the official title and theme are still under wraps, the evidence pointing toward a Coven extension is overwhelming. Ryan Murphy recently replied "Done" to a fan on Instagram requesting a continuation of the New Orleans witches' storyline.

Reports suggest the season will revisit Miss Robichaux’s Academy and explore the hierarchy of the witches following the events of Apocalypse. The teaser material has already utilized Madison Montgomery's (Emma Roberts) iconic line: "Surprise... I bet you thought you'd seen the last of me."

4. Release Date & Production

Production officially began in April 2026 in New York City. While FX hasn't locked in a calendar date, the current production schedule and Ryan Murphy’s traditional rollout suggest a premiere on October 31, 2026 (Halloween).
