Updates to (registered) Bots & Bot Registration

Over the past few months, we've noticed an increase in email bounces. We've found that most of the email bounces stem from Bot Registrations. In light of this; we've made some adjustments:

NickServ's Bot Registrations:

  • Bots with invalid email addresses have been updated to their Owner's email address. (This allows for the Bot owner to be aware of any soon-to-expire bot nicknames or channels.)
  • Bots with valid email addresses have not been changed.

Updates to Bot Registration

We've also made the Bot Registration process easier for users. If you would like to register your bot, you can do so via HelpDesk or by emailing us at support@IRC4Fun.net with the following:

SUBJECT: Bot Registration Request
Bot Owner=YourNickname
Bot Nickname=BotsNickname
Bot Description=Purpose of the bot
  • Approved Requests will be registered with Services and given a bots/botnick/ownernick cloak/vHost.
  • The Bot's NickServ password will be provided to you after approval. Please store this somewhere safe and do not lose it. Any password resets for Bots will require Staff assistance.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. You can also /JOIN #IRC4Fun for assistance.
