How do I report a user who is threatening me?

If a user is making threats to you, depending on the severity of the threat; you should do one of the following:

  • Physical/Life/Illegal threats – You should contact your local Law Enforcement agency with any logs, screenshots, etc.
  • Hacking/”Doxxing”/Extortion – You should contact your local Law Enforcement agency with any logs, screenshots, etc.
  • Other – Ignore the person or persons with /IGNORE Nickname.  If they are doing this in a public setting, you may contact IRC4Fun staff to see if they can intervene.  This article may also have helpful resources for you: How do I stop a user from bothering me?

NOTE: In situations where users are making threats such as the first two categories above, you are recommended to report such instances to your local Law Enforcement agency.  IRC4Fun is not able to “police” or investigate users.  IRC4Fun, as indicated in our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), Privacy Policy, and Message of the Day (displayed upon connection to any IRC4Fun server): cannot monitor conversations or see conversations that are not in public channels where a Staff member is joined to.

We can, and will, take action against users who threaten users in public channels where it has been witnessed by staff.
