CService (X) Account Password Requirements (update) The IRC4Fun Channel Service Committee (CService) has updated the password requirements for accounts today. Going forward, passwords will still require 7 characters (1 Capital letter minimum, 1 lowercase letter minimum, 1 number minimum) but will no longer require a symbol. This will help to alleviate confusion with users upon registration as well as alleviate the amount of forgotten passwords & password resets. Users who prefer to have a symbol or symbols in their passwords can still do so. New Password Requirements: Must contain at least 7 characters. Must contain at least 1 Capitalized letter. Must contain at least 1 lowercase letter. Must contain at least 1 number.
Changing your Password or MAXLOGINS setting Going forward, users who wish to change their password or MAXLOGINS setting must use the CService Web Interface to make these changes. Previously, users could change either their Password or set their MAXLOGINS setting within X. These changes allow users to better maintain the security of their accounts as well as provide better consistency for users in regards to updating their MAXLOGINS setting. (more…)
Channel Service Account Passwords - Update We've updated the requirements for Account passwords today. While we have not had any breaches or compromises, the updated requirements will help to maintain the security of accounts by requiring stronger passwords. (more…)
IRC4Fun's Channel Service Team has recently unveiled the new Live Web Interface, and a lot of new features with it. To ensure that you are able to reset your password, make certain requests through the Web Interface, or to use some of the interactive forms; you will need to have a Verification Question and Answer set.
